Fire tests at the Dutch institute Efectis showed that not only Plato®WOOD Frake but now also Plato®WOOD Norway spruce can be treated with a flame retardant of Magma International meeting the European fire class B-S2, d0. This means that Plato®WOOD Norway spruce products can be used for applications with higher requirements for the European fire class, such as galleries and flight routes.

Plato International BV shares a strong environmental concern. We therefore use mainly timber that originates from sustainably managed forests (FSC® and PEFC certified). We have also reduced the amount of energy necessary to perform our unique Plato process so now it requires no more than kilning your internal floorboards. And since no chemicals are added to the product, it is truly the most environmentally responsible manner to upgrade timber. We develop and supply sustainable products which provide a significant contribution to the preservation of forests and their natural surroundings. No carbon footprint

The Belgian magazine HOUTHANDEL AND NIJVERHEID of February 5, 2010 discusses in detail the various possibilities of Plato®WOOD for the building industry. A large section of this article describes the villa by architect Bert Michels. This is a good example of a project in which Plato®WOOD is applied, next to stones. Michels likes to use wood in a construction and the architect felt that especially Plato®WOOD satisfies the specified requirements. The project was conducted by De Noordboom Ronse and the timber was provided by Eurabo Ronse. |
SBI tests performed at the research institute Efectis showed that Plato®WOOD Fraké (Limba) with a thickness of 15 mm meets the European fireclass B-S1,d0 if the timber is treated with Magma Firestop SBP1. This allows Plato®WOOD Fraké (including the facade product Platonium® Afara) to be used for applications with higher requirements for the fire class such as galleries and escape routes.
